INGREDIENTS
2 cups raw unsalted pecans
4 tsps egg whites
2 tsp ground cinnamon
1 tsp ground cloves
1 tsp allspice
3 tsps xylitol icing sugar
METHOD
Beat the egg whites in a dish until frothy. Add the nuts. Mix well and leave to stand for a few minutes for the nuts to soak up the egg whites. Combine the spices and sugar. Place a silicone mat on a baking sheet. Add the spices mixture to the nuts and mix well to coat them. Spread the mixture on the silicone mat evenly. Bake on 140° C for 20 minutes. Make sure the nuts are not damp when you remove them from the oven. Let them cool down completely and store them in an airtight glass container.
